Finding Your Personal Power

We are teaming up with Haute Hijab for their first-ever HH Retreat, hosted by Founder and CEO Melanie Elturk.

We’re going to do what Haute Hijab does best; equip you for your life while building strong bonds of community on this sisters-only retreat. The theme will focus on ‘Finding your Personal Power,’ reflecting a journey Melanie has intensely experienced for the past three years. Each day, we’ll start with a new empowering topic for the day, as we journey through Morocco from Tangier in the north to Marrakech in the south.

After dinner each day, we’ll come together and conclude that day’s topic after a day of dreaming and wanderlust. Melanie is so excited to take you on this journey inward into yourself and pull out your personal power so you can build the life you want. With only 15 spaces, be sure to book your space on this unique experience.

Empower

This retreat is not for the faint of heart. It is for those focused on self-development looking to make some real, lasting, meaningful changes in your life. If you’ve been feeling stuck, if you lack focus or motivation or simply need to understand what your higher purpose is - and you actually want to take the steps to do something about it - this retreat is for you. A willingness to learn, grow and evolve is a must. 

Here’s what each day’s topic will cover

  • What is your personal power? What does it mean to have power? Why is it important to have power? What do we do with it? How do we lose power?

  • External blame for personal circumstances gives our power away and leaves us powerless to change our circumstances. How do we counteract this? Radical acceptance of our lives, our circumstances and our choices - all of it has created the life we live today. Is there something we’re unhappy about? We have the power to change it.

  • Where do you come from? How has your ancestral line contributed to your life? What are the strengths of your lineage? What generational patterns and cycles need to be healed and transmuted so we don’t continue to pass them on? How do we do this?

  • God is always speaking to us, but we ourselves can block His voice. Our intuition is the connection point between ourselves and God. How do we block our own intuition? How do we sharpen it? How to discern between intuition and fear?

  • Love is the strongest emotion on earth. Love is source-energy. But we cannot give of what we do not have. How do we develop self-love, rid ourselves of self-loathing and unconditionally love and accept ourselves so we can properly receive love and love others? What holds us back from true, unconditional love?

  • “The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” - Pablo Picasso.

    Why were you put on earth? What are the unique gifts you possess that you need to nurture and cultivate in order to serve humanity? This is your calling. How is a calling different from a career?

  • Tying it all together - how do we implement what we’ve learned? What are the practical takeaways we bring back with us into our everyday lives to continue stepping into our power and creating the life we want?

Agenda

  • Saturday 1st June

    Upon arrival in Tangier, meet our transport team and transfer to our hotel.

    Accommodations throughout the trip are a combination of single rooms and shared basis to encapsulate some of the unique places to stay in the country.

    Join the welcome dinner with Melanie and your sisters to get to know each other.

  • Sunday 2nd June

    After Fajr and breakfast, join Melanie for your first morning workshop with an introduction to Finding Your Personal Power.

    In the afternoon,, we’ll start to explore Tangier, the birthplace of Ibn Battuta, with a short tour of the city.

    Dinner with reflections on the day and overnight in Tangier.

  • Monday 3rd June

    After Fajr and breakfast, join Melanie for your morning workshop: Taking Your Power Back

    In the late morning, we’ll depart to the beautiful city of Chefchaouen, also known as the Blue City. After lunch and some time to explore the local artisans, we’ll continue our journey to the ancient city of Fes.

    Dinner with reflections on the day and overnight in Fes.

  • Tuesday 4th June

    After Fajr and breakfast, join Melanie for your workshop: A Look into our Past to Understand our Present

    In the late morning, we’ll visit the oldest university in the world, Al-Qarawiyyin, which was founded by Fatima al-Fihri in the 9th century. We’ll explore the old medina of Fes, before dinner and reflections on the day.

  • Wednesday 5th June

    After Fajr and breakfast, join Melanie for your workshop all about your powerful Intuition

    We’ll then depart Fes for Casablanca. This will be our longest journey of the trip, with a mid-way stop in the capital coastline city of Rabat for lunch.

    Arrive into Casablanca in the early afternoon with dinner and reflections to end the day.

  • Thursday 6th June

    After Fajr and breakfast, join Melanie for your workshop on Love.

    Today we’ll be heading to the bustling city of Marrakech and on the way, we’ll stop at the famous Hassan II mosque.

    We’ll continue on to Marrakech where we’ll check in to our accommodations to relax after a long day with dinner and reflections.

  • Friday 7th June

    After Fajr and breakfast, Melanie will bring the conversation back to Your Personal Power and discover how your week has evolved.

    After Jummah, we’ll visit the Amal Centre, a safe and loving space where strong, resilient local women rewrite their narratives and step into their power.

    The rest of the afternoon will be to enjoy some shopping in the eclectic Jemma El Fna before dinner

  • Saturday 8th June

    Your final session with Melanie will be about “How To Create The Life We Want”

    The time today will be spent traveling into the Atlas Mountains, to experience traditional Berber culture where time slows and nature takes over.

    We’ll have lunch, enjoy a local tea ceremony and enjoy a light hike in the mountains. Return to Marrakech for our final dinner as a group before departing the following day.

Abode

Throughout the trip, our aim is to bring a sisterhood throughout the places we stay, the food we eat and the experiences we share.

Haute Hijab is all about building community so get ready to meet new friends and make long-lasting bonds of sisterhood, inshallah. Here are some of the places we’ll be staying at.

  • 7 nights’ accommodation (a hybrid of single room and twin sharing)

Exclusions

  • International flights. Please plan to arrive into Tangier and depart from Marrakech airport

  • Personal expenses such as laundry, mobile phone sims and other expenses of a similar nature

  • Travel insurance

Price

$2,399 per person.

Spaces are strictly limited to 15 places and on an application basis. We are unable to accommodate children on this trip. The Haute Hijab team will confirm your place upon application by the 30th April 2024.
